Pires & Turner Escolha is a Vinho Verde (‘green wine’, or young wine) produced in Baião, in the southeastern part of the demarcated Vinho Verde Region, at the heart of the Douro valley.
In the predominantly granite soil of Quinta de Alvites — under the influence of the river, and resisting both the cold of winter and the intense heat of summer — the Avesso grape variety evolves to reveal a particular freshness and minerality. The Quinta de Alvites vineyards, located 300 meters above sea level, overlooking the Douro river, inspire the label. In the design, the profile of the land is combined with the name of the project. The geometry of the terraces embraces the metric division of the name Pires & Turner, delivering a contemporary take on the iconic feature of Douro Valley vineyards.
