Fio da Navalha is a recent portfolio of wines from Esporão. Its name means ‘razor edge’ and refers to taking risks and trying different things in the making of the wine — soil types, variations in altitude, climate and sun exposure, grape varieties, and the influence of the people and traditions involved in the processes.
Fio da Navalha marks the fine line between failure and success, embracing the mistakes along the way. As it represents a new direction for Esporão, a long-established brand, it demanded a new approach to label design. For this project, we commissioned and art directed Lourenço Providência to illustrate the three different labels: No Campo, Curtido e Primário. Lourenço illustrates in a simple, fresh, witty, contemporary style, which we believe was perfect to meet the brief and goals of the project.
