Quinta de Adorigo's wine labels refer to the rows of terraced vineyards which are a distinctive feature of the Douro Valley landscape and are also reflected in the winery’s architecture project with its intersecting curves. Terraces that have long shaped the territory with their metrics, monumental walls and sun-oriented slopes, represent the harmonious connection between nature and human activities. In the new labels we drew their geometry in a graphical synthesis to fit with the wider project's contemporary feel.
The winery and hotel designed by architect Sérgio Rebelo merge into the Douro's natural setting, framing nature as it creates spaces for contemplation. A recipient of an Architizer Award and a World Architecture Festival Award in 2021, the project respects and pays homage to two thousand years of wine production in the region, reflecting contemporary technical evolution, and contributing to the assets of this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site.
